Welcome to Amigo Care
At Amigo Care ABA, we believe that every child with autism has unique strengths, potential, and a story worth celebrating. That’s why our mission is simple: to empower children and families with compassionate, culturally responsive, and evidence-based ABA therapy that makes a real difference in daily life.
We deliver personalized, in-home services led by a diverse team of Spanish-speaking and bilingual BCBAs, technicians, and administrative staff. Every family, regardless of background, is supported, understood, and equipped to help their child reach their fullest potential.
Timely Start
Early intervention is important. The sooner a child receives therapy, the faster they can build skills, confidence, and independence. That’s why at Amigo Care, your child can start services in just 7–14 days. No waiting. No delays.
Culturally Responsive
We understand that language, culture, and family values matter deeply in therapy. That’s why we deliver care that feels personal, relatable, and respectful. When your child and family feel understood, learning happens faster, progress is more meaningful, and therapy becomes a positive part of daily life.
Whole Family Approach
ABA works best when the entire family is part of the journey. At Amigo Care, parents, siblings, and caregivers are invited to be active participants. Our therapists show families practical strategies to reinforce new skills, turn everyday routines into learning opportunities, and celebrate milestones big and small.
Who We Support
Our mission is to ensure every family feels supported, understood, and ready to help their child reach their fullest potential. We are uniquely equipped to support:

We support any English-speaking family, including those from all cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our team provides inclusive, accessible, and personalized guidance so therapy fits seamlessly into daily life.

For families who want therapy in Spanish, our Hispanic Division ensures you never need to “translate” your concerns. Beyond language, we provide care that is culturally sensitive and attuned to the traditions of the Latino community, making therapy feel natural, respectful, and effective.
Our Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Services
At Amigo Care, ABA therapy is delivered one-on-one in your home. This format allows your child to practice skills naturally in the environment where they actually live and interact—from morning routines to mealtime, play, and family interactions.
Our programs are personalized and play-based, because children learn best when they are motivated and having fun. You and your child will work closely with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), ensuring expert guidance and individualized support.
With a focus on cultural sensitivity, positive reinforcement, and family involvement, our in-home ABA therapy helps children build lasting skills in the space they’re most comfortable in.
FAQs
What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the most widely researched and effective therapy for children with autism. Rooted on the principles of learning and behavior. ABA teaches new skills step by step, from communication and social interaction to daily independence. ABA is backed by decades of research and is recommended by leading health organizations as proven treatment for autism.
What is the goal of ABA?
The goal of ABA is simple: to help children thrive. By breaking big skills into small, teachable steps, ABA builds confidence, independence, and connection, while reducing behaviors that get in the way of learning and family routines. Family quickly see progress that makes everyday life feel calmer, more joyful, and more connected.
What can I expect?
You and your child will work with a therapy team that includes a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), who has undergone extensive training in ABA and a therapist or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). All our BCBAs live here in Maryland. Since we don’t use remote supervisors from out of state, you’ll always have a local expert who understands your community and stays directly involved in your child’s care.
Therapists meet with the children one-on-one, in the child’s home, in a safe and familiar environment that helps the child learn. It also allows the therapy team to work in close contact with the rest of the child’s family and incorporate them into the therapy program for a Whole Family Approach.
How soon can my child start ABA therapy?
At Amigo Care, we know early intervention matters. Most families begin services within 7–14 days of reaching out, with no waitlist in select Maryland areas. Our intake team verifies your insurance, schedules your child’s assessment, and gets therapy started quickly. Parents often tell us that just knowing help is coming—and coming fast—brings an immediate sense of relief.
Do you only serve Latino families?
No. We serve all families. Our Hispanic Division provides Spanish-language support for those who prefer it.
Skills We Work On
ABA therapy is about more than sessions, it’s about helping children succeed in everyday life. In our in-home programs, kids make meaningful progress in core areas that open doors to more confidence, independence, and joy at home and in the community.
Behavior Reduction
Every child has tantrums or challenging behaviors. We focus on understanding why they happen, then teach your child better ways to communicate and succeed, so tough moments turn into real learning.
Communication
We help your child find their voice, whether that’s asking for a snack, saying “play with me,” or sharing a smile. Stronger communication makes daily life easier and helps your child feel connected to others.
Social Skills
We help your child build relationships, whether that’s taking turns in a game, sharing toys, or playing cooperatively. Stronger social skills make daily interactions smoother and instills confidence.
Self-Help Skills
We support your child in gaining independence, such as putting on clothes, using utensils, or practicing hygiene. Building these skills makes daily routines easier and helps your child feel capable.
Tolerance Training
We teach your child to handle change, whether that’s transitioning between activities, waiting patiently, or coping with surprises. Learning these skills reduces frustration and supports smoother daily routines.
Early Intervention
The toddler years are a critical time for skill development. Begin ABA therapy as early as ages 2-5 with play-based strategies that accelerate growth and set the stage for long-term success.
Our Story: Learn What Makes Amigo Care Different
After years of driving across Maryland as a home-based BCBA, Alex Arevalo saw a gap he couldn’t ignore: families navigating complex systems alone, overworked clinicians burning out, and ABA delivered for volume instead of value. In 2022, he launched Amigo Care to rebuild trust in ABA, focusing on relationships, retention, and meaningful results.
As a Latino-owned and BCBA-led company, our commitment ensures your child’s care is guided by people who live this work, know this community, and always put clinical quality before volume.
The result? Parents feel understood, and clinicians feel proud to serve in the community they call home. Families tell us the difference isn’t just in their child’s progress—it’s the relief of finally having a partner they can trust.
Amigo Care guarantees the following:
Continuous Care
The same clinician who evaluates your child stays involved throughout therapy—no handoffs, no surprise switches. Your child benefits from uninterrupted progress.
Maryland-Based Clinicians
All our staff live locally, meaning your BCBA won’t be some stranger on a Zoom call from another state. As members of the community, our staff bring continuity, deep understanding, and cultural awareness to every family we serve.
Highly-Trained and Reliable Team
We address what most companies overlook—high turnover and burnout—through mentorship pipelines and internal training that creates a highly capable team that wants to stay long-term.
Hispanic Division
Amigo Care is the only ABA company in Maryland with a dedicated Hispanic Division. For families who prefer services in Spanish, we provide bilingual BCBAs and RBTs who deliver care in the language and culture that feels most natural to you.
